Citizenship
Why Turkey
Under Article 12 of Law No. 5901 and Article 20 of the implementing regulation, foreigners who obtain a residence permit after investing within the amounts set by the President may acquire Turkish citizenship by Presidential decision, provided there is no impediment on national-security or public-order grounds. The Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye Investment Office publishes the current thresholds, including real estate of at least USD 400,000 and several USD 500,000 financial and employment routes.
Why Turkey
Türkiye sits between Europe and Asia. Official investment-office guidance confirms that foreigners do not need a residence permit in order to buy real estate, and that property buyers may obtain a renewable short-term residence permit under Law No. 6458. Citizenship itself is a separate Presidential decision after a qualifying investment is attested by the relevant ministry.
Investment routes
Published qualifying routes include: acquiring property worth at least USD 400,000 with a three-year no-sale annotation (Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change); a fixed-capital investment of at least USD 500,000 (Ministry of Industry and Technology); a bank deposit of at least USD 500,000 held for three years (Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency); creating jobs for at least 50 people (Ministry of Labor and Social Security); government bonds of at least USD 500,000 held for three years; and real-estate or venture-capital investment-fund shares of at least USD 500,000 held for three years.
